Sample Deck Overlay
The Overlay and the new Sample Deck mapping put TRAKTOR’s Sample Decks at your fingertips, with complete control over the four sample slots. Grab a loop from a running track deck and drop it onto a Sample Deck slot on-the-fly. Rack up as many as eight different loops or one-shots, then launch in perfect sync — a whole new world of live remixing and editing with TRAKTOR!
1. FILTER CONTROL
The 8 high resolution potentiometers and 8 buttons provide dedicated filter control over the individual Sample Deck slots. As with effect parameters, easily select the slots you want to tweak using the buttons, then turn the filter knobs and add your own individual trademark sound to your performance.
2. VOLUME CONTROL
One push encoder per deck is dedicated for controlling the Sample Deck slots’ volume – just turn the knob. All currently selected slots will be affected. Pushing the encoder will reset to full volume. Hold SHIFT to access gain control instead. The FX assign buttons stay intact, meaning that if you use two X1 controllers, you can assign the two effects units independently from one another to the Sample Decks.
3. LOOP SIZE CONTROL
This section allows control over the length of your loops. Turn the encoders to change the length - they stay in perfect sync when doing so. Push to reset to the original length. With SHIFT pressed, turning the encoder allows you to pitchbend. The HOTCUE button allows you to enter the Sample Size mode for the Arrangement section below.
4. ARRANGEMENT
By default, the 8 buttons on either side can be used to mute or un-mute each individual slot (left row of buttons) or trigger them (right row of buttons). As usual, SHIFT plus a button can be used to stop a slot - or clears it if it’s already stopped.
In Sample Size mode (when the Hot Cue button is on), Sample Deck slots can be conveniently switched to half or double length.
